A Lioness and lifelong companion
Dreeta and Whitney met when both were, effectively, still cubs. It was extremely soon after Dreeta had set out on her own and started living in the forest. Whitney had been separated from her pack temporarily by a freak, severe storm at the onset of winter, and she had sought shelter in a cave. Dreeta had already been preparing for winter, and had a decent supply of food when the storm came. After a couple of days she found that the shelter she had constructed in a tree was vastly insufficient for the severity of the winter. She sought shelter in the Whitney’s cave, finding it the only one nearby. The two stood on guard for hours, each knowing that the other was about as strong, but too exhausted and cold to think of a better solution. Both eventually slumped from exhaustion, and Dreeta ate. Seeing the young cat was too weak to even come over to her to try and get her food, but respecting the potential strength she saw and amazed that Whitney had remained on her feet for so long, she carefully fed the cat. From then on, the two trusted one another more than was likely wise, but it payed off completely for both. The two continued to share the same space well after Whitney had been reunited with her pack. Eventually the lioness spent more and more time with the diminutive druid and druidic magic solidified the bond between them.
